BBQ Tomato Sauce

A basic tomato based sauce that brings the right blend of sticky sweetness and sizzling fire to your barbecue. You really can’t go wrong with this one.

  • 800g Peeled tomatoes (San Marzano or similar)
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • ½ cup Orange juice
  • ½ cup Pure honey
  • ½ cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Paprika powder (according to preference)
  • 2 tbsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Crushed black pepper
  • 4 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tsp Red chilli flakes
  1. Blend all ingredients in an electric blender until you have a smooth and consistent mixture.
  2. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and cook over a medium heat for approx. 20 mins. The mixture will get darker and start to bubble frequently as the ingredients are caramelised and close to being ready.
