Big K Products Ready to Burn Storage Guide

Indoor Storage

Ready to Burn logs are already low in moisture, and more readily catch alight. Placing logs or other combustible materialtoo near to heat sources may cause them to ignite.

The Ready to Burn scheme is supported by Defra, HETAS, The SIA and is overseen by an industry governance panel.

Ready to Burn wood is dried to 20% moisture content or less so consumers can take bags of Ready to Burn firewood home to burn straight away.

Outdoor Storage - Do's

  • Protect From Direct Rain: Bags should be protected from direct rain.

  • Keep Off Ground: Ensure fire wood is kept off the ground, possibly stored on a pallet.

  • Allow Air To Circulate: Allow air to circulate. A pallet will let air flow beneath it.

Outdoor Storage - Don'ts

  • Do Not Closely Cover Logs: Bags don't need to be closely covered as this can lead to sweating.

  • Do Not Leave on Wet Ground: Do not store fire wood on moist ground.

  • Do Not Leave Open To The Elements: Do not store bags of fire wood open to the elements.
