There are dishes and then there are dishes. It’s true that you can’t beat a classic, however sometimes you need to pull out all the culinary stops to impress. Looking to really wow your guests at your next dinner party? We asked celeb chef, author and TV personality Theo Michaels to come up with the ultimate BBQ showstopper. You won’t want to miss this one.
Theo’s recipe for buried lamb really is something special. This stunning dish can be cooked on a barbecue, fire pit or even on an open fire, and the really intriguing thing for your guests is to see the parcel all wrapped up and cooking right on the fire. The real excitement lies in the serving. Picture your guests’ faces as you eagerly unwrap the parcel while the aroma of deliciously tender lamb fills the air — better than Christmas we’d say! The buried nature of this cook means the lamb slow cooks for in its own juices for over 3 hours, so it truly melts in the mouth. Theo adds a few new potatoes to the parcel too, making this a delicious meal for a group.

Theo knows his stuff, so naturally he is cooking his buried lamb using Big K’s Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs as well as adding some of our Flama Restaurant Grade Charcoal to keep the fire roaring for longer. Our Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs are FSC certified with a consistent moisture level of under 20%, so they’re easy to light and long lasting, producing a really high heat output that’s perfect for keeping fire pits roaring all evening, whether you’re cooking or just enjoying a natural fire. The Flama charcoal is a Kachi stick charcoal that pairs naturally with other logs. This charcoal is 100% natural, with around 2 hours of cook time.
